Given that the end use of transformer board is so
critical, Raman Boards products are subject to stringent quality checks both during production and before
dispatch. Our well equipped laboratory handles as many as 360 tests on every 1000 boards produced. Statistical Quality Control methods are regularly employed to assess and control system variation. End products tests completely conforms to IEC standards of
test methods and also include a metal detector for pressboard to ensure product purity.
Process

Raman Boards utilizes only 100% sulfate kraft pulp from prime Scandavanian & North American sources This is the sole constituent in our SIGMALEK 2.1 and SIGMACOM 3.1 grades. Cotton fibre of the highest quality is carefully selected and graded for use in our SIGMALEK 4.3 along with wood pulp.
The raw material is processed on an intermittent board machine plant where the “wet lap” is formed. An advanced manufacturing environment where key areas such as fibre
treatment and ply grammage are controlled by micro-processor based control systems, and carefully preset operating procedures, ensures excellent batch uniformity and conformance to standards. Sheet drying follows two streams either under restraint in a multi-daylight press or through a hot air
impingement dryer, after which the boards are calendered to the desired density and thickness.
